Designing for the living city
The Urban Jungle program was designed to identify short-term and long-term opportunities to improve all facets of Google Maps for people who live in diverse types of urban environments. The massive program effort provided our global team with valuable insights and empathy showing the problems people in these cities face everyday, and allowed us to uncover opportunities to better serve them with our products. In this talk we will dive deeply into how to create and run a research project at scale (4 cities, 40 cross-functional stakeholders, 2 weeks) and dive into the best practices we have learned to have real product and organizational impact.
We will discuss our replicable methodology that combines facets of qualitative and quantitative research at scale and introduce a structure for being able to measure impact of qualitative research outcomes.
