Improvisation is a form of live theatre in which the plot, are made up in the moment. “Service Prototyping” is a workshop to explore the implementation of improv methods in service design process, which can be conducted to generate empathic understanding, creative ideas and prototype test ideas. We will make use of exercises that are active, interactive, insightful and connect to the creative process of prototyping. 1.Building safe space for teams to explore; 2. Generate empathic understanding: Empathy is crucial when you are designing, learn to observe body language and listen actively. 3.Embrace different perspectives; Explore different perspectives from the same situation to arrive to the most surprising outcome Prototype: Practice the skills, see what sticks.
This workshop will give the participants the confidence to use theatrical and improv as a tool when designing Services. In this workshop participants will develop new insights on creative processes: both their own and those of their colleagues. From previous experience, we know that this learning by doing can change participants’ view on their own creativity: what it takes for them to be creative and which obstacles they typically run into. We also share pointers of how they can approach their creative process in the future.
